Man (63) killed in Tipperary car crash

A 35-year-old passenger is recovering in hospital

A 63-year-old man was killed in a car accident in Co Tipperary.

The single vehicle smash occurred at approximately 2:45pm at Newtown, New Inn, Cashel, Co Tipperary.

He collided with a tree and pronounced dead at the scene.

He was removed to South Tipperary General Hospital in Clonmel, where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.

He was accompanied by a 35-year-old man, who is currently recovering in the same hospital, although his injuries are not said to be critical, according to Gardai.

The scene is currently closed for technical examination.
