Man (59) arrested after 10,000 pills seized at house

A man (59) was arrested after the seizure of over €20,000 worth of pills seized at a house in Limerick

A joint intelligence operation between Officers of the Revenue Commissioners South West Region, the Garda Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and the Limerick drugs unit unearthed the haul.

The drug sting saw some 10,500 tablets of Benzodiazepine seized in Kileely, Limerick on February, 1.

The drugs had been sent to from Austria and have been seized by Customs.

The 10,500 tablets have an estimated street worth of €21,000.

A male (59) was arrested by Gardai and was detained at Henry St Garda station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996,

The man  was released on February, 2 without charge and a file is currently being prepared for the DDP.

Investigations are on going.
