Man (40s) dies after Dublin stabbing

The attack happened at Harmonstown Road in Raheny

A man (40s) has died after suffering serious injuries in a stabbing in north Dublin on Thursday evening.

The attack took place on Harmonstown Road in Raheny at around 7:45pm.

The man received apparent stab wounds and was removed to Beaumont Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The scene is currently preserved for a technical examination. The Garda Technical Bureau is scheduled to attend the scene later.

One man in his 40’s has been arrested in connection with this investigation and is currently detained at Clontarf Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 – Criminal Justice Act 1984.

It's believed the two men were known to each other.

Investigations are continuing.
