Man (40) killed in Co Wicklow motorbike crash

A 40-year-old man was killed this evening in a road traffic collision in Co Wicklow.

The incident occurred at approximately 5.35pm today at Calary, on the main Kilmacanoge to Roundwood Road.

The man was fatally injured when his motorcycle collided with a tree.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body removed to St. Columcille’s Hospital in Loughlinstown where a post mortem will take place.

Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them at Bray Garda Station on 01-666 5300, the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666-111 or any Garda Station.

This section of road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
