Man (40) arrested in connection with seizure of cannabis herb worth around €100,000

A 40 year-old man has been arrested in connection with a garda investigation into the seizure of cannabis herb worth around €100,000.

Gardai seized the drugs during a planned search of a premises in Carlow town yesterday, shortly after 2.30pm.

Gardai were assisted by members of the Garda Dog Unit from Cork.

The 40-year-old man was arrested at the scene.

He is currently detained at Carlow Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
