AN estimated €200,000 of cash has been seized by gardai attached to the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau.

At around 1pm yesterday gardai, assisted by members of the newly formed Special Crime Task Force, stopped a vehicle near the Fonthill road in Dublin 22.

The significant amount of cash was discovered concealed inside the vechicle.

A 39-year-old man, who was arrested at the scene, was taken to Ronanstown Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

He has since been released without charge and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
