Man (34) arrested in connection with theft of 75 cattle, 25 sheep

A man has been arrested in connection with the theft of 75 cattle and 25 sheep, understood to be worth more than €100,000.

The man, in his 30s, was detained after a planned search operation in Co Donegal yesterday morning.

Gardaí had been investigating the theft, which occurred in Kilbeggan, Co Westmeath, on June 24 and 25, when 75 cattle and 25 sheep were taken.
