A MAN has been arrested after another man was stabbed to death in a row between friends.

The victim, 25, was killed after an argument broke out at a flat complex in Passage West, Co Cork last night.

The suspect, aged 23, was detained under section four of the Criminal Justice Act and is being questioned at Togher garda station.

Gardai appealed for witnesses to the attack which happened at about 11.45pm.

Detectives believe the two men were friends and had been in a flat just off the Cork Road when the argument broke out.

The fight spilled out on to the street where gardai in a local patrol car witnessed it.

It is understood the dead man had been living in the Meadows area of Passage but was originally from the north of Cork city.
