Man (23) dies two days after he was injured in road crash

A 23-year-old man has died two days after he was injured in a road crash.

The man is the second person to die as a result of the crash.

Michael Madigan was pronounced dead at University Hospital, Limerick this evening.

He was the driver of the car involved in the collision with a van on Hyde Road, Limerick on Tuesday at around 7.40pm.

A man in his 40s and his young daughter (5), who were travelling in the van at the time, were not seriously injured.

Garda Forensic collision investigators examined the scene. Tonight, gardai appealed for information.

Three units of the Limerick City and County Fire Service responded to the scene, along with Gardai, and a HSE ambulance crew.
