Meanwhile, gardai in Mayo renewed appeals for witnesses to a hit-and-run in which Peter Rushe (67) of Barnacogue, Swinford, died, when a Peugeot 405 collided with Mr Rushe's car at Barrack Street, Charlestown, at 10.45pm last Wednesday. Two men were seen running from the Peugeot afterwards. Eyewitnesses are asked to call gardai on 094-9252990.
