Male pedestrian loses his life in fatal road traffic collision

A man in his late 60s has been fatally injured after he was struck by a car in Cork this evening.

A man in his late 60s has been fatally injured after he was struck by a car in Cork this evening.

The male pedestrian was hit on the Carrigtwohill to Midleton Road at approximately 6:45pm this today.

No other person was injured in the collision.

Gardai are investigating the fatal road traffic collision. The man’s body remains at the scene.

One lane of the road remains open to facilitate a Garda forensic examination.
