Male dieters get manly option

An American firm has launched a new soft drink containing 10 calories, because apparently men do not think zero-figure diet alternatives are "manly".

To appeal to men, Dr Pepper made its Ten drink different from Diet Dr Pepper. It has calories and sugar and will be wrapped in gunmetal grey packaging.

Yoko launches children's appeal

Yoko Ono is launching a global campaign with Hard Rock International and WhyHunger to raise money to help fight childhood hunger and poverty.

The 78-year-old widow of John Lennon is asking that on November 1, at 1pm, people "take a moment to imagine a nourished and abundant world".

An 18-year-old woman in the US told police she broke into a neighbour's home three times by squeezing through a dog door to steal items to feed her porn addiction.

Investigators said Amanda Rose Owens admitted the crime and said she needed money so she could pay for 20 to 30 pornographic DVDs she had bought. She has been charged with second-degree burglary.

Riots dad charged with wounding

A father who appealed for calm after his son was killed during the August riots has been charged with unlawful wounding.

Tariq Jahan (46), of Winson Green, Birmingham, who made a plea for communities to unite after the death of his son Haroon (21), appeared at Birmingham Magistrates' Court after allegedly breaking another man's jaw on July 6. He will appear again in court on November 21.

Paul in no rush for honeymoon

Sir Paul McCartney and new bride Nancy Shevell are to take their time with their honeymoon by waiting several days before heading off.

It is understood the couple may wait up to a week before enjoying a honeymoon although the musician will be throwing himself straight back into work with a tour to prepare for in about a month.
