Making plans for the weekend? It's good news on the weather front
There will be some break from the January blues as the first full weekend of January will be dry and mild.
Saturday will be mainly dry with temperatures set to reach 11 degrees.
Met Eireann said that there may be patches of drizzle mainly on hills and coastal areas.
Outdoor plans can be made for Sunday, as the biggest threats forecast are some scattered patches of drizzle and mist.
Temperatures on Sunday are set to reach 12 degrees.
Monday until Wednesday will continue to be mild with patches of drizzle but Met Eireann is warning that freezing temperatures will arrive mid-week.
“Clearer, much colder conditions will follow by Wednesday night, but with occasional showers, some turning to hail, sleet and snow, especially in the northern half of the country,” according to Met Eireann.
