M50 northbound remains closed following 'serious crash'
Part of the M50 northbound has been closed after what AA Roadwatch has described as a "serious crash."
Motorists have been advised to "avoid if possible" by the official M50 Dublin twitter page as all lanes northbound lanes are now closed at Junction 4.
Gardaí later confirmed that a pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by a lorry.
Gardaí have advised those travelling southbound to so with "due care and attention."

Gardaí, Dublin Fire Brigade and ambulances are all that scene.
A garda spokesperson said:"Emergency services are at the scene of a serious crash which happened around 5:30pm near Junction 4 Ballymun."

Dublin Fire Brigade sent three motor units, an emergency tender and an ambulance to the scene.
AA Roadwatch has reported that delays extend back to before Junction 5 near Finglas.

It is not yet clear when this portion of the motorway will be reopened.
