PRESENTER Lucy Kennedy is in negotiations to host an afternoon show for TV3 to rival RTE Today.
Ballymount bosses are hoping to sign a contract with the mum-of-two by Thursday.
This would be just in time for TV3's autumn season launch.
It is expected that the 37-year-old will partner a new daytime chatshow with Martin King.
The programme is the brainchild of new TV3 boss Jeff Ford, who believes the pairing of duo Kennedy and King will prove a hit with both advertisers and viewers and see them taking on RTE hosts Daithi O Se and Maura Derrane.
However, sources close to Kennedy told the Herald this morning that, despite reports the show was going ahead, “no contracts had been signed” between Kennedy and TV3 at this point.
The TV personality first revealed plans for a “light-hearted daytime chat show” on TV3 to the Herald last June after her contract expired with RTE.
“It'll be a chat show and I'll be fronting it,” she said at the time.
“It's very quirky. It will have that Livin' With Lucy vibe to it.
“It's a daily show. And it has a big twist – I can't say what exactly that is but it'll definitely keep viewers tuning in,” she added.
Lucy has just kickstarted her media career again after having two babies.
Earlier this year Lucy completed a TV pilot 'Keeping Mum', her first project since having her second baby, Holly, in April 2012.
Herself and husband, Richard Governey, had their first son Jack in November 2009.
