One lucky ticket holder from the East of Ireland scooped last night’s €8,188,679 Irish lottery jackpot.
Tesco supermarket in Whitegates centre in Wicklow town has confirmed to Independent.ie that the winning ticket was purchased at its store.
It is understood that the lottery gamble was made on the back of a €4 quick pick that was sold on Saturday night.
The fortunate player is yet to claim the prize money and has not been reported to media outlets as yet.
On Wednesday night the main Irish Lotto jackpot stood at a mammoth €7,502,518 but no-one managed to match all six main balls.
The unclaimed prize therefore rolled over to last night’s draw – and a substantial payout for the as yet unidentified punter.
Numbers for the Irish Lottery main draw on Saturday, January 4, were 04, 25, 35, 38, 42, 43. The bonus number drawn was 28.
