A lucky Kerryman was over the moon today as he collected his €500,000 EuroMillions Plus prize.

The man, who wished to remain anonymous, won the prize on Tuesday, May 27.

He bought the €6 Quick Pick ticket in SuperValu on Valentia Road, Cahirciveen, Co Kerry.

“I can’t believe my luck,” the mystery winner said.

“I never miss a EuroMillions draw and to finally win big is a dream come true.”

He added: “My wife was calling out the numbers on Tuesday evening and I was checking the ticket."

"With each number she called, my heart raced that bit faster. The last number she called was 41. ‘I’ve that too,’ I said. ‘You can’t have,’ she said. She didn’t believe me. She was sure I was messing. She checked the ticket herself and sure enough I’d all five numbers. There were a few screams after that.”

The regular EuroMillions player hasn’t made any plans for the win just yet.

“It’s a great amount to win and makes life a lot easier for sure,” he smiled, as he celebrated with a glass of champagne.

Tonight’s EuroMillions jackpot is an estimated €90 million.

To date the National Lottery has raised over €4.4 billion for good causes.
