As a result of the fault, Dublin Bus is accepting valid Luas Green Line tickets.

The problem occurred at the St. Stephen's Green stop.

A number of overhead wires were damaged but Transdev has issued a statement saying technicians will continue to work through the remainder of the day and into the night to resolve the issue.

Services are expected to resume at 6.30am tomorrow morning.

A spokesperson for Transdev apologised to all passengers who have been affected by the disruption.
