Luas experiences lengthy delays after collision between car and Garda vehicle on tracks

The Luas is experiencing lengthy delays in the city centre tonight due to a car collision.

The collision occurred between a car and a Garda car on the Queen Street and Benburb Street junction near Smithfield in Dublin city centre.

The incident occurred shortly after 9pm and Dublin Fire Brigade attended the scene just minutes afterwards.

There are no injuries reported from the scene.

The Luas Red Line is now running with delays of up to 40 minutes as a result of the collision.

Delays are expected until 10.30pm.

The official Luas Twitter account wrote online; "#Luas Red Line running with delays of 40 mins due to NON #Luas RTA."
