A MINOR collision between a car and a Luas has disrupted tram services between Smithfield and the Four Courts.

The Luas had been travelling inbound to the city centre when the crash happened. There were no injuries caused to passengers.

Spokesperson Nicky Farrell said the crash was minor but was causing delay and the service should resume ‘within a matter of minutes.’

‘‘The incident manager is at the scene and it depends on whether the Garda shut it down but we’re not expecting that as it should be back running in a matter of minutes,’’ she said.

Luas officials are regulating the service around town and directing running services from Saggart and Tallaght to Smithfield.

The incident happened just after 9.30am.

*Update 10.55am - services have returned to normal in Dublin city centre
