'Love/Hate' star is shot in mystery late-night attack
AN ACTOR in hit gangster drama 'Love/Hate' has been discharged from hospital after being shot in the leg in a mystery attack in the centre of Dublin.
Leroy Harris (20), pictured, was hit in the calf when a gunman fired two shots as he was walking with a friend at Rutland Cottages in the north inner city at around 3.40am yesterday.
The gunman, who was alone, then made his getaway on foot.
Mr Harris, who is from the Mariner's Port area of the north city, was taken to the Mater Hospital but discharged later following treatment.
Gardai said last night they were trying to establish why he had been attacked.
His friend was not injured in the shooting, according to authorities.
Gardai at Mountjoy garda station later appealed to witnesses to the incident or anybody with information about the shooting to contact them at 01 6668600 or on the confidential phone line, 1800666111.
Mr Harris had a minor part in the RTE gangland series but his character, 'Glen', gained notoriety when he was involved in a scene in which a cat appeared to have been shot dead with a machine-gun.
Following complaints from viewers, the producers of the hugely popular crime drama felt obliged to produce the cat on 'The Late Late Show' to prove that it had not been hurt in the incident.
