Ireland's newest millionaires plan to celebrate on the "quiet" after scooping an €88.5m EuroMillions jackpot.

The syndicate collected their substantial winnings at Lotto HQ on Thursday, after winning the jackpot in the Tuesday January 24 draw.

The ticket was bought at the Applegreen service station in Lusk, Co Dublin. The winners said they will not get carried away with the win and plan to return to normal life.

"We are absolutely delighted. We all have bills to pay with mortgages, loans and whatnot, so we are looking forward to the financial freedom that comes with a win of this magnitude," a spokesperson for the syndicate said.

"We will be having a quiet party with family and friends to celebrate our good fortune."
