Lotto jackpot rolls over

THERE was no winner of last night's €3.4m National Lotto jackpot.

The numbers drawn were 6, 9, 16, 21, 28, 41 and the bonus number was 24. Over 31,000 players won prizes, including one winner of €25,000. There was no winner of the €350,000 Lotto Plus One draw. The numbers drawn were 29, 33, 35, 41, 43, 45 and the bonus was 38. There was also no winner of the €250,000 Lotto Plus Two draw. The numbers drawn were 6, 7, 8, 21, 32, 44 and the bonus was 25.

BOMB SQUAD ALERT

AN army bomb disposal was called in after gardai intercepted a explosive device as it was been carried in a car. The device was recovered at Ferrycarraig Park in Priorswood, Dublin.

The area was cordoned off and when the bomb team arrived shortly after 7pm the device was taken to a military location and made safe.

KENNY TO GET DNA TEST

Taoiseach Enda Kenny is one of more than 100 participants in a National Geographic project to cast light on the genetic make-up of the population of Co Mayo.

Along with other prominent natives of the county, Mr Kenny has submitted himself for a DNA swab.

CLARIFICATION

An article in the Irish Independent, June 7 headlined 'Newspaper's 'Limerick crime scene' ad draws 20 complaints' stated that a letter of complaint about an advertising promotion by the 'Irish Examiner' from the Limerick Communications Office had not been published.

It has been pointed out to us that, in fact, the letter in question was published on Thursday, June 6. We are happy to clarify this matter.
