A LONE raider escaped with an undisclosed sum after an armed robbery on a Cork city centre bank.
The masked man, believed to have been armed with a handgun, ran into the AIB branch on North Main Street in Cork at 4.30pm today and demanded cash from shocked staff.
He grabbed an undisclosed sum before fleeing on foot.
No staff members were injured during the incident and no shots were fired.
Detectives appealed for anyone who may have spotted suspicious activity near the bank to contact them.
CCTV security camera footage from North Main Street, the Coal Quay and Liberty Street was being studied to determine the man's identity and his escape route.
