MORE than 200 residents and local business owners from Dalkey in south county Dublin joined forces yesterday to protest over proposals by a private company to drill for oil and gas just six kilometres from the coast.
Providence Resources have applied for a licence to drill an exploratory well at Kish Bank in the coming months.
They say the drill will cause damage to both the environment and tourism sector in the area.
