GARDAI from Raheny are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body on Dollymount strand in Dublin.
The body of the man was discovered at approximately 11.20am this morning.
A local out walking made the discovery of the man's remains washed up on the shore and contacted gardai.
They waited for their arrival and pointed out the spot to detectives.
Early reports said the man was partially clothed when found.
Gardai said that they are not treating the death as suspicious at this time, pending the results of a post mortem examination.
A Garda spokesman told the Irish Independent: "We haven't identified the person at this stage and we're investigating the circumstances."
Locals expressed their shock at the find, in what is a popular area for walkers.
