Little sweethearts taught a lesson in love
WHAT better way to spend Valentine's Day than by making pretty hearts for the one you love?
The National Museum of Ireland might not rate as one of the most romantic places in the country, but yesterday it was filled with passion. However, in this case, those making tokens of affection for their sweethearts were all aged between six and 12 years of age and the lucky recipients of the heart-shaped creations were either mum or dad.
The children spent a happy hour learning the truth about the holiday of love which has existed since Roman Times, and was later 'Christianised' by the early church.
And even the most cynical could not help but be charmed by the intensity of the young artists as they modelled special gifts for those they hold dear.
