Ben Fisher (4), from Maynooth, Co Kildare, and little Lily Burke (2), from Enniskerry, Co Wicklow, were elbow-deep in bubbles as they brushed up on their hand-washing technique in St Stephen's Green, Dublin, yesterday.

Using the simple steps of soap, rub, rinse and dry, the campaign aims to instill good habits in children from an early age and uses a special hand-washing song.

The poster will be distributed to public and private nurseries, pre-schools and other organisations.

Copies of the poster are also available through Safefood by contacting its helpline on 1850 404 567 or by visiting
