DRESSING the kids in the morning was one less thing to worry about on National Pyjama Day – although soggy slippers were something of a concern with all the puddles about.
Almost 45,000 preschoolers around the country took to the venture with gusto, helping to raise vital funds for the Irish Hospice Foundation.
Organised by Early Childhood Ireland, this is the 10th year of the event.
The programme supports a network of Children's Outreach Nurses who help parents caring for seriously ill children.
At the Mother Hubbards Childcare facility in Dublin's Ongar yesterday, children giggled through activities such as "Ten in the Bed" and "bedtime stories".
"The children love that we don't do the normal routine," said Stephanie Campbell, area manager of Mother Hubbards.
