Limerick born John Gilhooly awarded OBE

LIMERICK born UCD graduate John Gilhooly has been awarded an OBE (Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The 39-year-old is the director of the world famous chamber music venue Wigmore Hall in London and Chairman of the prestigious Royal Philharmonic Society.
He recieved the honour for his services to music in the Queen's 2013 Birthday Honours List, announced today.
Gilhooly is credited with the transformation of the Hall’s artistic, financial and administrative affairs over the past 12 years.
