Leinster trio line out for launch of new jerseys

THERE is very little spare fabric in Leinster's new sprayed-on, state-of-the-art, hi-tech jersey for opponents to grab their man.
Traffic on the Samuel Beckett bridge in Dublin was reduced to a crawl at lunchtime yesterday as drivers rubbernecked beefy players striding out to launch the new home and away jerseys, with a return to the traditional royal blue and white.
The tight-fitting 'players' jerseys sell for €90, but there is some relief for supporters' pockets and profiles.
A loose fitting version for male fans who don't train daily and like to celebrate a win with a few pints will be available for €60.
And a female specific jersey for Leinster's growing army of female supporters will retail for the same price.
Mothers manning the washing stations will be grateful that the white jersey is only for away matches.
At yesterday's launch, sun-kissed Leo Cullen, newly returned from his honeymoon in Italy and the south of France, donned a somewhat relaxed footwear look of socks and flip-flops.
A tough combination for most to work in, the Leinster lock moved purposefully across the vibrating bridge, flanked by fast moving scrum-half Eoin Reddan, and back row Sean O'Brien whose rippling muscles and impressive six-pack were amplified by his torso clinging, white jersey.
The new shirt incorporates the traditional Leinster province harp symbol, which also features in the design of Dublin's new bridge, the backdrop to yesterday's photocall.
Meanwhile, a third, alternate jersey in a turquoise-green shade will be available from July 30.
