'Lazing' is the perfect weekend
WE'RE a lazy lot when it comes to the weekend, a new survey of European habits reveals.
While 71pc of Germans admit "relaxing and being lazy" is their preferred pastime at the weekend, the Irish aren't far behind, with 56pc citing "lazing about" as their "activity" of choice.
That's according to the online poll conducted last month for the travel website lastminute.com.
While 42pc of Irish cited watching television, surfing the internet is also high on the agenda (31pc).
And the amount of money spent on alcohol ranks highest – the majority of Irish respondents aged 35 and over spent an average of €976 on drink from Friday to Sunday night over the course of a year.
