Late drama as Adams gets shirty before TV cameras

A GOOD host will always go the extra mile, even giving a guest the shirt off his back if necessary.

And so 'The Week in Politics' presenter Sean O'Rourke proved yesterday when filming last night's programme in Killarney, Co Kerry.

When Gerry Adams turned up to be interviewed wearing a vertically striped blue shirt that played havoc with the camera, there was no time for the Sinn Fein president to go back to his room and change.

Mr Adams was in Killarney for the Sinn Fein Ard Fheis but was heading for Clones, Co Monaghan, to see Monaghan v Antrim in the Ulster senior football championship quarter-final.

By chance, Mr O'Rourke had a spare shirt so after a quick change Mr Adams resumed the interview in a block blue shirt -- far more suitable for television.
