A sick newborn lamb who was put in an Aga oven to keep him warm has died.

Sheep farmer Suzanna Crampton brought Teeny Tiny the lamb back to life when he suffered hypothermia after birth. Suzanna, from Bennettsbridge, Co Kilkenny, said that she had hoped the unusual method of heating him up, in the lower left section of the Aga, would give him a fighting chance of survival.

But less than 24 hours later, the little lamb lost his battle for life.

"He took a turn for the worse on Tuesday night and died at around 2am," said Suzanna.

"Usually when they're that tiny, their lungs are underdeveloped and the hypothermia put extra strain on his lungs. If I had found him sooner, he would have had a better chance at survival."

Suzanna said Teeny Tiny's twin brother is "thriving".
