Ladies all shook up after scooping €250,000

A devout Elvis fan, one of four friends to share in a New Year's Eve lotto jackpot, has vowed to use her winnings to visit Graceland.

"I'm a big fan and it's been a lifelong dream to go over there," Wexford native Mary Roche said.

"I will keep some of the money aside after paying my bills and go."

But Mary wasn't the only one saying "thank you very much" -- three of her workmates also shared in the €250,000 scoop.

Yesterday, Rita Kinsella, Debbie Tierney and Ann Haye, who all work at the Theo Bennings electronics company in Wexford, arrived in Dublin to collect their cheque.

They were the second lucky winners of the Christmas Millionaire Raffle draw after an anonymous Dublin couple claimed the €1m grand prize earlier this week.

Some 300,000 tickets, at €20 a piece, were available for the special New Year's Eve draw with more than 2,300 cash prizes up for grabs.

"We spend up to €300 on lotto tickets every week and I do up to three different syndicates," said Mary.

Ms Tierney, who is due to marry her partner David this June, said: "We will be able to pay for the wedding and the honeymoon and maybe get a car. We won't have to scrimp and save."
