LABOUR is expected to lose another Oireachtas member this evening as one of its senators prepares to vote against Budget cuts.
Senator James Heffernan is expected to vote against the Government on child benefit and respite care grant cuts.
It means he will lose the party whip and become an Independent member of the Seanad. Mr Heffernan voted for the broader social welfare Bill last night.
His move echoes that of rebel TD Colm Keaveney, who last week voted for the wider Bill in the Dail, before voting against individual aspects of it.
