Kingdom reigns supreme as top holiday destination
KERRY is king of the counties when it comes to choosing a favourite holiday destination, far outranking its closest rival.
The Kingdom won 24pc of the vote for people's top place to holiday, according to a survey by property website MyHome.ie, well in front of runner-up Galway (17pc) and Cork (15pc).
Surprisingly, Wexford and majestic Donegal both scored just 8pc to make it into the top five.
And Dublin won the wooden spoon, after it received the most votes for the least appealing place to holiday.
The survey of over 2,000 people showed that very few people are planning trips to the North, despite its appeal as a shopping destination.
Just 4.5pc of respondents said they were planning to cross the border for their holidays.
Just 11pc said they preferred to take breaks in Ireland while 41pc said their preference was for trips abroad.
