Kids join Sharon's breakfast club

Broadcaster Sharon Ni Bheolain joined Jack O'Sullivan (5) and Kerri Ryan (13) at the launch of the Kellogg's 'Sorted 4 School' Survey yesterday.

The survey found that more than half of Irish children skip meals during the day, and breakfast was the most likely meal to be missed.

Some 67pc of parents with a child in secondary school admitted the problem, compared to 46pc of parents with primary school children.

Nutritionist Paula Mee said yesterday: "While parents recognise and are committed to the importance of this meal -- they still struggle to ensure that kids eat breakfast."
