TAOISEACH Enda Kenny has described the polling card errors made by country's largest local authority ahead of the Seanad referendum as "very regrettable".
Some polling cards produced by Dublin City Council have been sent to dead people, some have been delivered to the wrong address and some have polling cards directing them to the wrong station.
Of about 330,000 voters on the electoral register in the city council area, a total of about 35,000 voters - more than 10pc - have been affected by the printing error.
Mr Kenny said it was very regrettable that this had happened. But he said that people should be aware that they could vote in the Seanad and the Court of Appeal referendum without brining their polling card.
"I do hope there will be a very significant turnout for the votes on Friday and that people will cast their judgment," he told the Dail.
