Kenny keeps up TV3 debate track record but is 'not afraid' of Adams

Surprise, surprise, Taoiseach Enda Kenny will not be participating in the TV3 debate with Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams.

The television broadcaster said yesterday that his refusal was "for no stated reason" and described it as "regrettable".

TV3 added that it was assuming Mr Kenny won't appear in an RTE debate "to avoid any inference or suggestion of bias towards the state broadcaster".

Mr Kenny's spokesman said the refusal was "not personal".

"He doesn't have a problem with TV3. He has just decided not to," the spokesman said.

"The Taoiseach's track record on debates is well proven."

Yup, his track record with TV3 debates is consistent -- he's refused to do them.

And is he afraid of Gerry Adams? "No."
