Judge to face trial over will deceit allegation

A JUDGE will stand trial next year for allegedly deceiving an elderly couple into putting her children into their will.

District Court Judge Heather Perrin (60), formerly a solicitor, faces charges of fraud.

The charges claim that she "did with the intention of making a gain to another, or causing a loss to another by deception" induce Ada and Thomas Davis to sign a will in which they purported to bequeath half of their residential estate to Sybil and Adam Perrin on January 22, 2009 in Fairview, Dublin 3.

Judge Martin Nolan set a trial date for November 6 next at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, after it was requested by defence counsel Patrick Gageby.

He remanded Judge Perrin on continuing bail until that date.
