Jobs for 40 builders at Gaeltacht site
FORTY new construction jobs will be created in the next two weeks when work starts on a new development centre for the Irish language in the west Kerry Gaeltacht.
The Irish Language and Gaeltacht Development Centre in Ballyferriter is a partnership between the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Udaras na Gaeltachta and Comharchumann Forbatha Chorca Dhuibhne, the west Kerry development co-operative.
When complete, the building will include new offices for the community development association, a family language support centre and a creche.
Heritage Minister Jimmy Deenihan and Minister of State for the Gaeltacht Dinny McGinley turned the sod on the new centre, which is expected to be completed by autumn next year.
