A major jobs fair will take place in Dublin next week to fill a minimum of 2,000 positions in the healthcare industry.

The company behind the fair say they can fill 700 positions for doctors, nurses and other healthcare professions in Ireland, with another 1,300 positions being offered in the international markets like the Middle East, Australia, Germany and the United Kingdom.

"We have been engaged by hundreds of hospitals and medical care centres across the globe and they are so keen on the Irish market due to the standards of healthcare professionals this country consistently provides," says Brian Crowley, founder and chief executive of TTM healthcare.

"In the Middle East we will be offering packages for doctors and nurses that include income-tax-free salaries, free flights home every year and in some cases free accommodation and education for children," said Mr Crowley.

Most of the Irish jobs on offer will be in the growing private healthcare sector.

"There are jobs in Ireland," says Crowley, though he added that "many healthcare professionals have to look abroad".

The fair takes place November 14 in the Red Cow Moran Hotel in Dublin.
