Job vacancies for professionals 18pc ahead of last year
THERE was a 6pc increase in professional jobs available from July to September compared to the same period last year.
There was also an 18pc increase in professional job vacancies last month compared to the same period in 2011, according to the latest Morgan McKinley Irish Employment Monitor.
It also showed an overall increase in the total number of available jobs compared to January to September last year.
There was only a slight drop of 2pc on the total number of jobs available in the second quarter of this year.
Compared to September last year, there was a 1pc drop in the volume of the new professional job seekers.
"Despite fluctuations in the hiring market this year, the overall number of roles coming onto the professional jobs market exceeds 2011 and this increase in September 2012 underlines the trend for improvement in the market this year," said Karen O'Flaherty from Morgan McKinley.
