Jedward have paid tribute to a young fan who died following a battle with cystic fibrosis.
Aislinn Dunne, from Knocklyon, Dublin, was one of the pop duo’s biggest fans.
Her close friend and neighbour Caitríona Flood described Aislinn as “a fun, spirited girl who was always so playful”.
The pair lived next door to each other, and had been “inseparable” since they were just three years old.
“She never let her illness hold her back,” Caitríona told Independent.ie.
Aislinn had been studying event management in Dun Laoghaire, and had hoped to receive a lung transplant and pursue her dreams of becoming a veterinary nurse.
She had followed Jedward eagerly since their earliest days, meeting them many times as well as speaking to them via Facetime.
The twins visited her in St Vincent’s Hospital on April 7, where they took a sweet photo with Aislinn and one of her stuffed animals.
The 22-year-old died on Monday, and after learning of her death, John and Edward took to Twitter to express their sadness and share a set of photos with their devoted fan.
“Somewhere, somehow, we’ll see Aish again. She was loving, caring and super kind,” they wrote.
“Never forgetting your smile x.”
