Jannina coasting her way around the country
A 62-year-old English woman has been quietly trekking around the coast of Ireland to raise money for wildlife charity Tusk.
Retired actor and teacher Jannina Tredwell, from Bath, began her 4,000-km trek around the island of Ireland in February, setting off from Kilmore Quay in Co Wexford.
Hugging the coastline all the way, where access allowed, she travelled north by Greystones, Ballbriggan, Carlingford and along the coast of the North and back into the Republic before walking south along the west coast.
Two 'helpers' drive her camper van which Jannina sleeps in with her two dogs.
Jannina said: "It has been amazing really. We've seen every type of weather. The snow in Antrim and the winds on the north-west coast where I couldn't even stand up at times. Then last week we had that heatwave," she said.
"Everywhere I go, the Irish people are very charitable and they all buy the wristbands," she added.
