She's the star of the new Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues trailer.
But until yesterday morning legendary broadcaster Anne Doyle had never heard of Ron Burgundy or the Channel 4 news team.
"To my shame I have to admit that I have never seen Anchorman," she told the Herald.
Anne was bombarded with calls yesterday morning regarding the clip but needed partner Dan McGratten to clarify what everyone was talking about.
"I got all these text messages and phone calls and I turned to Dan and asked 'What's Anchorman?' and he said 'Oh, for God's sake!"
With such a prominent role in the trailer Anne now intends on renting the film. "I will watch it now because everyone tells me how hilarious it is," she said. "Dan says it's very funny."
The trailer begins with a clip from a grey 1980s RTE newsroom, a brunette Anne welcomes the audiences with her mantra: "Good evening, the headlines ... "
As ever the poised former presenter is taking the cameo appearance in her stride.
"I imagine they're doing it in every market so I'm not really cracking Hollywood, am I?" she said.
"I'm taking it with a pinch of salt. It's just a bit of fun really."
It's not the 61-year-old's first brush with the movie industry. Anne also appeared in John Boorman's 1998 film The General.
"Regrettably I'm not in the Anchorman movie but I did make an appearance in The General."
"They filmed a news bulletin and I was presenting it. So there's always that," she laughed.
Anne presented the news on RTE for over 33 years and is now enjoying retirement.
Her final news broadcast took place on December 26, 2011 and she signed off with "For me it's been a pleasure. Good fortune, goodbye."
You stay classy, Anne.
Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues will hit Irish cinemas on December 20.
