It's cheaper and quicker by air
A return flight on Ryanair between Cork and Dublin on September 12 will cost one adult €35.98, according to the airline's website yesterday.
That excludes the cost of luggage but includes a €12 booking fee. Flight time is listed as 50 minutes but passengers will have to be at the airport 40 minutes before the flight.
According to the AA, the 253km route between the cities will take about two hours 50 minutes by car and the cost, on fuel alone, is about €26.92 each way, or €53.84 return.
