It's a dog's life for this furry fashion pack

Who says dogs don't like to be pampered at Christmas? Just ask (from left) Rio, Percy, Gussie and Rockey, who yesterday helped to launch the new Marvel Room Christmas extravaganza at Brown Thomas on Dublin's Grafton Street.

Despite the recessionary times, the iconic store has devoted an entire section to canine yuletide treats, including doggy accessories.

Star attractions at the official launch were the Mungo & Maud quilted coats (€130) and luxurious bolster beds (€195), while leading menswear designer Paul Smith has created sleek dog leads (€165), collars (€95), and bowls for €60.

However, not all Christmas treats for pets are so expensive. There's lavender-infused 'Mishap Spray' (€15) "for those times in life when little animal friends are caught short", and shampoo (€25) which is a blend of French blackcurrant, Tunisian neroli, mimosa and violet leaf . . . on a base of sweet vanilla bourbon.

No one's going to call you a hound dog if you smell that good in the park!
