IT firm creates 200 new jobs in €100m expansion plan

IT company EMC, the world's biggest manufacturer of storage computers, has announced the creation of 200 new jobs as part of a €100m expansion, writes Grainne Cunningham.

The full-time positions in engineering, customer support, sales, finance, R&D and IT are to be based at the company's new offices at Citygate in Mahon, Co Cork.

Separately, up to 140 new jobs are to be created in the mid-west.

A new economic plan for the region is set to be announced by Finance Minister Michael Noonan and it is understood the jobs will be created in Foynes, Co Limerick, by CPL Fuels Ireland, one of Europe's largest solid fuel suppliers to domestic households.
